An Evening to Mark the Season

In December, we joined our friends at Wildcard Café on Chamberlayne Road to launch the first in what will become a new series of evening gatherings: Wildcard.LATES.

The idea is simple. Good company. Considered drinks. Music that holds the room rather than fills it, and an opportunity for a neighbourhood to come together after hours.

For this first evening, the bar featured seasonal cocktails built around our Autumn and Winter Expressions — spirits shaped by slower months and deeper tones. Mixed with care and served in a room that felt warm against the cold outside, the drinks formed part of a wider rhythm: conversation and connection.

Live music set the pace. Not loud, not hurried — just enough to carry the evening forward. Tables shifted. Glasses refilled. Familiar faces lingered. It felt less like an event and more like an extension of the street itself.

Wildcard has always placed community at its centre. That commitment was visible throughout the evening — in the gathering of neighbours, in the warmth of the space, and in the quiet confidence of a venue that understands its role in the life of the area.

At Patience, we think often about context. A spirit is shaped not only by how it is made, but by where and how it is shared. Wildcard.LATES provided the right setting — intimate, local, considered — for the Autumn and Winter Expressions to find their place at the table.

The series will continue into the new year, evolving with the seasons. We look forward to returning.
